Training for Official Tour Guides

The Deparment of Tourism of the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo carried out on Monday June 26th of this year the training workshop “La Casa Virreinal Trujillana y la Herencia Indígena”, directed to the Official Tour Guides and which was Juan Castañeda Murga, recognized professor of the National University of Trujillo.
This activity was supported by Agotur Lib and was developed at the Cultural Center of the Banco de la Nación Trujillo.


Peru in tourism fair of China

PROMPERÚ reported that the best of luxury tourism in our country was present in the International Luxury Travel Market-ILTM Asia, a meeting that year-by-year brings together the most exclusive travel agencies in Asia.

In the year 2015, 74% came for business, while only 18% did it for vacations, recreation or leisure.

Peruvian Gastronomy in The New York Times

With the aim of showing the diversity of Peruvian gastronomy to the world, PROMPERÚ and the prestigious The New York Times of the United States have developed a series of contents that consists of a report and seven videos that will be broadcast in the online platform, in which chefs ‘Generacion con Causa’ are the protagonists.

The material produced, which reach about 130 million people, the experiences of Ignacio Barrios, Matías Cillóniz, Francesco de Sanctis, Rebeca Delgado, Arlette Eulert and Palmiro Ocampo, young chefs showing their talent and ingenuity in the kitchen without losing their roots, conveying to the world that Peruvian cuisine is constantly growing and evolving, but maintains a solid and multidiversa base.
The so-called “Cuarta Generación de Cocineros del Perú” or “Generación con Causa” is represented by around 50 young Peruvian chefs residents in Lima, provinces and other countries whose mission is to continue consolidating the foundations of Peruvian cuisine.
These young chefs will actively participate in the various presentations made by the Peru national and international level, to represent us and to publicize its gastronomic proposal.

Trainings to MYPEs to boost tourism in the northern regions

The Ministry of Production (Produce) in partnership with Mincetur will train the micro and small enterprises (mype) in the north of the country in tourism.

The objective is to reactivate the economy in the areas affected by the “El Niño Costero” phenomenon. For this, workshops will be developed at no cost, through the Directorate of Digitization and Formalization of Produce. The meetings will begin on Monday June 12th and it will be held in the regions of Lambayeque, La Libertad, Piura and Tumbes.


The General Manager of Innovation of Produce, Gonzalo Villarán, indicated that it seeks to promote the transformation of the tourism sector through the use and application of digital technologies.

PromPerú presents #VAMOSPALNORTE Campaign

This campaign seeks to revive the tourist activity of the northern destinations of our country.
The portal web has 185 offers with discounts of up to 50% valid for the long weekend from June 29th to July 2nd.

The campaign which is being carried out as part of the government’s reconstruction program, invites Peruvians to learn about the diverse attractions and intense colors of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Cajamarca, Amazonas, Loreto and San Martin. For this, northern tour operators have prepared 185 travel offers with up to 50% discount valid from today until July 2nd, including the next long weekend that starts with the holiday of June 29th (holiday in the which you will have four days to travel around the country).


The minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and president of the Executive Council of PROMPERÚ, Eduardo Ferreyros, presented the campaign #VamosPalNorte, a colorful initiative that seeks to motivate the trips to the regions of the north of the country that were affected by the phenomenon of El Niño Costero and in this way to reactivate the tourist activity in the referred macroregion.


As part of the campaign, the portal plans What about you ?, with the support of 60 tourism companies in the north, it has presented 185 travel offers.
