4º Tourism Matchmaking of the Pacific Alliance

The 4º Tourism Matchmaking of the Pacific Alliance was held in Valparaíso, Chile, between May 25th and 26th, this activity made more than US $ 9 million in business and aimed to increase the flow of tourists from the Chinese market to the member countries of the bloc and strengthen the Intraregional tourism.

The event was aimed at promoting and developing tourism between Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru; brought together more than 200 emissive and receptive tourism operators from different nations, and generated about 2,700 business appointments. In this way there was an increase of 11% compared to the previous version in Lima.

Among the most relevant topics for buyers within the Matchmaking were urban tourism, gastronomy, meetings, incentives and purchases.

Exports from northern and central of Peru

Generating business and investments of more than US $ 20 million for the country’s fishing and agro-industrial sectors was one of the main objectives of the North Exporta business roundtable, held on May 25th in Lima, said the Peruvian Promotion Commission For Export and Tourism – PROMPERÚ. In the business round, 25 buyers from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Chile, Mexico, South Korea, Portugal, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands participated, as well as 60 Peruvian companies, mostly small and medium- of Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Junin, Piura and Tumbes. Some of the products traded on the wheel are asparagus, pomegranate, organic banana, mangoes, grapes, cranberries, avocados, pineapple, citrus, as well as giant squid, prawns, fan shells and parakeet, among others.

Norte Exporta was organized by PROMPERÚ and counted on the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) through its Overseas Commercial Offices (OCEX), which have been identified in different markets and have identified important buyers for the Peruvian offer.

School and University Tourism Fair

PROMPERÚ will hold the 10th University and School Tourism Fair of Lima, and it announced that the most varied programs for travel and study of the different destinations in the country will be present at this fair that will take place on June 15th this year. This initiative will bring together 36 specialized companies and it is aimed to teachers, study coordinators, parents as well as university professors and students who will be able to find in the fair various travel alternatives, tourist packages and information on new services and products of the tourism sector.

On the other hand, as part of the activities, seminars will also be held in order to highlight the potential of tourist destinations that can be visited by student groups.

Visits to museums

More than 200 schoolchildren benefited from guided tours of the museums that the Department of Tourism of the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo held on May from 15th to 17th , as part of the International Museum Day Week.

The children were able to visit the Museum of Natural History of the UPAO, the Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of the UNT and the Cultural Center of the Bank of the Nation of Trujillo.

Peru Travel Mart ended with successful results

During a meeting organized by PROMPERÚ and CANATUR, more than 7,000 business meetings were held
International buyers highlighted the organization and quality of the Peruvian tourist offer.

Peru Travel Mart, the meeting of the most important tourism industry in the country that took place from May 5th to 8th. It culminated with the favorable opinion of the main tour operators and wholesalers of the world who were satisfied with the variety and quality of tourism in Peru.

Without a doubt, the success of this event organized by PROMPERÚ and CANATUR, which summoned 135 buyers from 33 international markets will promote cultural diversity, natural and adventure destinations, in a context where the sector is committed to reach the goal of 7 million international tourists to 2021.

During the meeting was attended by 134 national companies including tour operators, hotels, airlines, cruises, restaurants, ground transportation, trains and other companies tourism promotion, that had in more than 7,000 business appointments registered the mission of showing all destinations, services and experiences that our country has the capacity to deliver. CANATUR estimates that during Peru Travel Mart S / 145 million were obtained in business for the next twelve months, which represents 10% more than last year’s edition.

It should be noted that the Peruvian entrepreneurs were able to participate in the seminar ‘Digital tourism marketing’. The seminars’ Kuélap, center of religious political power ‘by the archaeologist Alfredo Narváez,’ Peru, an adventure country run by businessman Francisco Basili, and ‘Opportunity for sustainable tourism’ by the director of Sernanp , Pedro Gamboa. Marca Perú Campaign: “El Sabor de la Victoria”

Continuing with the strategy of positioning Peruvian cuisine internationally and raising pride of Peruvians for us, PromPerú today presented the new tactical campaign of Marca Peru : “El Sabor de la Victoria”.

The video of the campaign was filmed during the last soccer match between Peru and Uruguay, which shows that, in addition to having emerged successful, Peruvian cuisine conquered the palates of Uruguayan fans, who forgot the match when it started to distribute Peruvian food in the stands.

The message of the campaign is that our food can compete with other passions, showing that Peruvian cuisine is an experience that conquers palates and hearts. In that sense, our gastronomy, which allows us to carry “El Sabor de la Victoria”.

Flights Trujillo – Cusco

The renowned company Latam Airlines Peru announced that from the second half of July will make direct flights between the city of Trujillo and Cusco.

Latam is planning to move more than 3,000 passengers per month in three weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The sale of tickets will be available from the 24th of this month.

BEST TOURIST DESTINATION: PERU

Peru was recognized as “The Best Tourist Destination of the Americas” at the Shanghai World Tourism Fair – SWTF 2017, held in China. During the development of this event was attended by more than 55 countries, represented by tour operators, tourism agencies, airlines, hotels and other companies dedicated to tourism.

Our country exhibited a pavilion set of the citadel of Machu Picchu that captivated the Chinese public.
